The Del Ray Montessori School is a non-profit Montessori School located in the quaint Del Ray neighborhood of Alexandria, Virginia, we are associated and recognized by AMI/USA (Association Montessori International). Founded in 2011, we serve children ages 18 months through age 12 and their families in the DC metropolitan area.

Tour our School
Interested in our space? School tours are a wonderful way for you to see our school and Montessori classrooms. DRMS hosts tours throughout the summer on an individual basis. Contact us!
1. Submit an Application
Applications, along with a $150 application fee, may be submitted at any time. Priority considerations are given to applications received by February 1. Applications will be accepted and considered on a rolling basis after February 1, if space becomes available.
2. Parent Meeting
Once an application is received, a virtual Parent Meeting will be scheduled during school hours to share more about your child’s growth and development, as well as your parenting journey with us. It is also an excellent opportunity for you to learn more about our school. Please note that this step is a requirement.
3. Child Visit
Once your application is received, you will register for an in-person visit with your child. During this visit, you will meet with one of our administrators who will spend time with you and your child to get to know each other. This is also an opportunity for you to ask any additional questions you may have about DRMS.
Admissions Decisions
Admissions decisions are made based on balancing the classrooms by age, and the needs of the individual classrooms, as well as considering the individual needs of students. Final decisions are emailed by March 1, once all of the required steps in the application process have been completed. Applications submitted after February 1st will be considered, if space becomes available.
