The Del Ray Montessori School is a non-profit Montessori School located in the quaint Del Ray neighborhood of Alexandria, Virginia, we are associated and recognized by AMI/USA (Association Montessori International). Founded in 2011, we serve children ages 18 months through age 12 and their families in the DC metropolitan area.
Primary Assistant
Alyssa is excited to join the DRMS staff this year. She was born and raised in Northern Virginia and attended Virginia Commonwealth University, where she graduated with a B.A. in English. She comes from a family of educators and has worked with children most of her life.
Alyssa has worked in childcare and teaching for over 20 years. Her diverse teaching experiences include homeschool, public school, special education, arts programs, and preschool. She is a longtime lover of the Montessori method and is grateful to gain experience in this style of teaching.
Alyssa loves the outdoors and the arts. As an herbalist, she hosts workshops for her community to learn about plants. In her free time, she enjoys writing poetry, hiking, singing, and making collages.
