The Del Ray Montessori School is a non-profit Montessori School located in the quaint Del Ray neighborhood of Alexandria, Virginia, we are associated and recognized by AMI/USA (Association Montessori International). Founded in 2011, we serve children ages 18 months through age 12 and their families in the DC metropolitan area.

Karen has returned to the DRMS community and is excited to continue her Montessori journey alongside such wonderful colleagues, students, and families.
With over 13 years of experience working with children across primary and elementary levels, Karen brings a deep passion for Montessori education, supported not only by her Primary and Elementary Assistant Certification from the Washington Montessori Institute but also by her caring personality. The Montessori pedagogy resonates strongly with her because of its profound respect for human nature and its holistic approach to learning.
Originally from Taiwan, she holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Japanese from Taipei, Taiwan. Before moving to the United States in 2009, she worked as a tour guide, which enriched her perspective on cultural diversity and communication.
Besides travelling, she enjoys cooking, crocheting, and creating origami—activities that bring creativity and relaxation into her life!
