The Del Ray Montessori School is a non-profit Montessori School located in the quaint Del Ray neighborhood of Alexandria, Virginia, we are associated and recognized by AMI/USA (Association Montessori International). Founded in 2011, we serve children ages 18 months through age 12 and their families in the DC metropolitan area.
Administrative Assistant
Lasha has 11 years of experience in education (early childhood education, elementary and middle school) and is excited to be at The Del Ray Montessori School. Throughout Lasha’s career, she worked with children aged 6 weeks to 13 years of age as a preschool teacher and as a Special Education assistant. Prior to working at The Del Ray Montessori School, Lasha worked as an Assistant Director at a local preschool, overseeing the day-to-day operations and meeting the needs of the school.
Lasha received a bachelor's in Business Administration with a focus in Human Resource Management from Strayer University.
Lasha enjoys all things outdoors including hiking at Great Falls, going on adventures with her dog Nike, and soaking up the sun at the beach. Lasha also enjoys traveling and plans on visiting the world someday.
How did you come to learn about and love Montessori?
I am new to the world of Montessori but am excited to learn everything I can from DRMS.
Describe the one WOW factor story you have seen in your children since you have taught Montessori:
My wow moment is realizing how independent the children are and are becoming from the lessons they are presented.
