The Del Ray Montessori School is a non-profit Montessori School located in the quaint Del Ray neighborhood of Alexandria, Virginia, we are associated and recognized by AMI/USA (Association Montessori International). Founded in 2011, we serve children ages 18 months through age 12 and their families in the DC metropolitan area.
Assistant Teacher & Floater
Originally from Mississippi, Brittany made her way to Alexandria, VA in 2017 — and it didn't take long for Montessori to find her. While working as a floater at DRMS, she discovered the toddler environment and knew immediately that this was the work she was meant to do.
Brittany brings a rich academic foundation to her practice. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Educational Psychology and a Bachelor of Arts in Foreign Languages (Spanish) from Mississippi State University, and earned her AMI Assistants to Infancy diploma from The Montessori Institute in Denver, Colorado in 2021. She further deepened her expertise with a Master of Education from Loyola University Maryland in 2023.
After some time away, Brittany is thrilled to be back at DRMS and reunited with the children and community she loves. She returns with her daughter, Hazel, too!
Outside the classroom, you'll find her baking, crocheting, sewing, reading, and taking barre classes. She and her husband are passionate Mississippi State fans — cowbells and all!
